Big Brother South Africa (now Big Brother Mzansi) is a South African reality TV competition series. The television series is based on the international format and in South Africa, Endemol is behind the production.
Housemates and contestants live together in a special facility under the camera. The viewers of the show have the privilege to vote for their favorite housemates. The housemate with the highest number of votes wins the competition.
Members would leave their normal everyday routine and live on-screen to please the audience.
Auditions
There are thousands if not millions of individuals who would want to go home with the ultimate prize. To select a few out of many of the available hopefuls, there is an audition. These hopefuls pass a series of tests that qualifies them to be in the house.
They have to meet the requirements to be in BBMzansi before they can move into the house.
Eviction
Regularly, the members of the BBMzansi house will nominate those they want to be evicted. Eviction is one of the rules of the competition. Therefore housemate’s survival in the house depends on both the audience and their housemates.
Housemates who are nominated the most would be at the mercy of the audience. Inability to survive the viewers’ vote, would kick them out of the house and the competition. Eviction continues at intervals to reduce the number of housemates in the game.
