Muzi Mthabela was born on 2 April 1977 in the coastal province of KwaZulu-Natal in South Africa. Growing up, he became interested in being a Catholic priest. Eventually, he found love in the show business that set aside his priestly dreams.
He grew up with his siblings under the care of a single mother. Muzi’s father left them with their mother and did not return. He later met with his father at the age of 12 and he taught him a lot.
