Patrice Motsepe is the darling of Mzansi. However, despite making all sorts of headlines with his charitable works, he has managed to live large with his wealth. He might not show it, but he lives the American dream capped with bling.
Patrice Motsepe’s academic qualifications
Despite learning a lot from his father regarding business education, Mostepe went on to further his studies in South Africa’s top universities. He holds a Law Degree from Witwatersrand, majoring in business law. The celebrated mining mogul also holds a Bachelor Of Arts Degree from the University Of Swaziland.
Business Empire and streams of income
He is a jack of all trades and a master of all. Patrice Mostepe went down in the history books when he became the first black man to own a mine in South Africa. He happens to be the owner of Rainbow Minerals.
In 2012 he was named South Africa’s wealthiest man. However, as of 2021, according to Statista, he was the third richest in South Africa with an estimated net worth of $2.9 billion, which amounts to R42.4 billion.
R69 million Cape Town mansion
Despite owning several mansions worldwide, Motsepe and Cape Town mansions seem to be his favourite. He owns an R69 million mansion in Cape Town. The million-rand mansion which boasts with the state of the art architecture and modern designer interiors, was bought in 2014 but has gone through several renovations.
A year later, he capped himself land for development worth R30 million in one of Cape Town’s property hot spots. Reports have it that he has since built a multi-million rand villa.
Cars worth millions
He has a million rand fleet. However, he has several exotic cars which are not disclosed to the public. Amongst his famous collection are a 2007 BMW 750 iL, Mercedes Benz S65 AMG, a Bentley Continental GT and the BMW 760 Li. Collectively those cars cost over R12 million.
