He is a familiar face on screen for playing the role of Derek Nyathi in Isidingo for 3 years (1998-2001). Hlomla landed the title role (Jacob) in the Drama broadcast on SABC2 Jacob’s Cross. He started playing the role in the premiere of the series.

He played the starring role of Minister of the Environment Jet Hlatswayo in End Game, an SABC1 political thriller mystery drama serial. He also played major roles in other television serials like Tsha Tsha, Interrogation Room, and Gaz’lam.
