Gail Mabalane was born on 27 December 1984 in Kimberly, the largest city in Northern Cape, South Africa. She is the middle child of her parents who had three children. In 2006, she lost her brother to an electric accident.

Her sister Denise Nkoane is alive and well. Mabalane parents were there to support her at the beginning of her career. Her mother was responsible for admitting her to the first fashion show that she attended – Miss Tinkerbell.

In an interview session, she revealed that her mother inspired her drive, passion, and balance. She lost her mother to a long-term illness on Christmas Eve in 2006. In 2013, her father died.

Career

In 2001, she appeared in the top five of Miss Teen South Africa and made it the top five. She was also a Kaizer Chiefs cheerleader in Johannesburg. As an entrepreneur, Gail ran an event management company with her dad.

As an actress, she played a starring role as Lelo Sedibe in The Wild. She played the role of the sexy fashion editor who wants a real love connection in the M-Net soap opera for two years (2011-2013).

She was cast in the Mzansi Magic drama series Rockville as Vicky. The Ferguson couple, Connie and late Shona Ferguson are behind the production. She appeared in the South African soap opera Generations as Sarah Westbrook and in 2015, Gail was cast in the Mzansi Magic telenovela The Road.

Personal life

Gail is married to Kabelo Mabalane, a kwaito musician, songwriter, and actor. Her husband has also played his part in keeping her in shape. Lately, he launched a gym and wellness center – Kumo Life.

They became a married couple in February 2013 and exchanged their marriage vows in a private ceremony. In March 2015, they became parents after welcoming their daughter Zoe Leano. After three years, they had their second child in 2018.
