Fumani Nkateko Shilubana was born on 22 March 1980 in Shiluvana Village in Tzaneen, Limpopo.

He almost chose to do modeling but after going to the SA Theatre to ask about drama, Fumani Shilubana had a change of heart. At the South African State Theatre, he met Irene Mathe.

Education

Anyone who listens to him speak would agree that he underwent formal education. Sure, he did, starting from both primary and completing his high school education. Fumani N Shilubana attended Tshwane Modern Arts Company (TMAC). In 2001, he graduated with a Certificate in Speech and Drama.

Career

In 2002, Fumani joined the Development Program of The South African State Theatre. There met Mpumelelo Paul Grootboom, who became his friend and mentor. The playwright taught Fumani most of the things he knows.

A year later, in 2003, he performed in his debut professional play. Since then, he has appeared in many productions with the State Theatre. Some of the productions recorded huge success and toured other countries outside the shores of South Africa. He appeared in other countries like Austria, Belgium, Germany, the United Kingdom, Poland, and Holland.

Among others, he appeared in the SABC2 broadcast series Hillside and the SABC1 broadcast Soul City. He was also cast in the miniseries Death of a Queen and Generations both broadcast in SABC1.

In the SABC2 broadcast production, Muvhango was cast as Advocate Molale. He has also done commercials for big names and brands including Sun International and Hollard Insurance. He has also done commercials for Hyundai and was cast in many other TV productions where he played the starring role.

He made an appearance as Emmanuel in the drama series titled eKasi: Our Stories in 2010. In 2012, he was cast in the film Zama Zama, which is credited as his first film role.

He starred as Mountain in the SABC3 sitcom Let Heaven Wait, in 2013. The year 2013 also saw him land a starring role on the miniseries title Naledi. In the SABC2 thriller series Thola, he was cast as Rudzani Makwarela.

The film is credited as his first and the language dominantly spoken is Tsonga. He also made another appearance in seasons 3 and 4 of the Mzansi Magic soap opera Zabalaza. He was cast as a guest star.
